About Rhythmics School of Kathak Dance

Our mission is to to provide instruction in Kathak and inspire a love for culture, tradition, and the performing arts. We aim to make Kathak accessible, inclusive, and relevant to the community while spreading its awareness. By bridging cultures through storytelling, music, and dance, we uphold the purity of the classical form while exploring collaborations. We use kathak as a medium to express connection, address social issues, and promote cultural integration.

We are proud to be officially affiliated with Sur Sangam, School of Dance and Music, of Assam, India, further enhancing the quality of our instruction.  This collaboration ensures that students receive authentic and high-standard training in Kathak. We also host community performances and  workshops, conducted by Guru Marami Medhi and Meghranjani Medhi.

We offer a structured curriculum that provides students with a clear progression in their learning journey. Through our official affiliation with Sur Sangam, students have the opportunity to take formal exams proctored by Sur Sangam's esteemed faculty. Upon successful completion, students receive certificates that validate their achievements and mastery of the art form, ensuring high-quality, authentic training.

We are dedicated to making Kathak accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.  A key aspect of our mission is collaboration, blending traditional elements of Kathak with various genres and partner with a wide range of organizations. This inclusive approach helps bridge cultures and expand the appreciation of Kathak beyond its classical roots. We perform at events that celebrate both South Asian culture and broader, multicultural themes. We ensure Kathak is seen as not only a cultural expression but also a tool for education and social connection.
